And just like that, white Nexus 4 (8GB and 16GB) removed from Google Play

White Nexus 4 missing Google Play

It was only last week the white Nexus 4 8GB was listed as “no longer for sale,” on Google Play and just like that, both versions of the white Nexus 4 have been completely removed from the Google’s device section. Jumping onto Google Play and clicking on Nexus 4 now only shows the black version of the device, still listed as currently “in stock.”

While old links for the 8GB and 16GB versions will still take you to the appropriate listing, both are listed as “no longer available for sale.” This news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The white version of the device was always listed as a “limited edition.” Those of you that had your hopes set on the white version might wanna start checking out 3rd party methods like Craigslist.

  1. I wonder how many were sold/manufactured.

  2. Yay

  3. Good. Maybe they will all be replaced before long. They should be ashamed that their flagship phone does not support LTE.

    1. It does, if you do the proper Googling.

      1. I don’t give them any credit if it can only be enabled through a hidden menu and has very limited support in the U.S.

    2. You should be ashamed that you confused this with a flagship phone

It’s awesome, but it’s a dev phone for everyone priced to shake up the market, not a bonafide flagship

      1. What the *$!^% are you talking about? You should be the one ashamed for your stupid comment. The Nexus line is Google’s flagship phone. The phone was modeled after the LG Optimus G which at that time was also LG’s flagship phone. At the time of release, the Nexus 4 came with the most current version of Android, the faster S4 “Pro” processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 720p IPS display with about 320ppi, NFC, Qi Wireless Charging, GPS & Glonass, and more….all of these features back in Nov 2012 and priced at $299. The only thing missing from the phone was LTE enabled. It was a FLAGSHIP.

        1. I am pretty sure he is not ashamed and correct. Starting with the nexus 1 1ghz hummingbird it had good hardware one of the first to cut their teeth on qualcomm’s latest at the time. All of them had standard camera not flagship quality by anyone’s standard. They did have the BEST software that was the whole point. Nexus 2 and 3 weren’t that note worthy in my opinion. 3 Pushing 720p maybe but that doesn’t qualify it as a flagship high end sure.

I do give you credit the nexus four did push the envelope more than most prior models did since the first gen 1 though.

          1. Agreed. I’d also like to ask for calm folks. Civil discussion about tech stories is possible and encouraged. Christ…

    3. For the seven thousandth time. hspa+ on T-Mobile is just as fast for downloads and is far more available worldwide than lte. People who complain about this are people who give their money away to Verizon in the USA.
