We’re just a few hours away from LG’s Optimus G Pro United States event, and with that we already have word on which carrier it will end up with. AT&T has just announced plans to carry the LG Optimus G Pro. Set to launch May 10th for $199.99, the Optimus G Pro is LG’s biggest flagship device yet, coming with a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 13 megapixel camera on the back with a 2.1 megapixel full HD camera on the front, 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3,140mAh battery, Android 4.1.2 and more.

Pre-sales for AT&T begin May 3rd, and for a limited time those who pre-order will be getting a free Quick Cover folio case in black. Oh, and don’t forget you can trade your old smartphone in toward the purchase of this one — that action could net you at least $100 (or more) to put toward the cost of this handset. Take a look at the AT&T Mobile Minute on this device above. Oh, and for those of you on other carriers, this one is a Ma Bell exclusive. Sorry!

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Good too see lg keep up the momentum with top end phones. Wish this would have been out a few months ago when I upgraded.

  2. THIS THING IS A BEAST BUT STILL NOT BETTER THAN THE NOTE 2…

  3. Were the tv antenna was is it a pen?

  4. Hopefully LG will start to gain favor amongst the Dev community. They have been making some really nice phones lately.

  5. Hmm…the Note 2 has competition. This is $100 cheaper, and I bet a lot of potential buyers of the Note will settle for this. …I mean it is a copy of the Note 2.

  6. Yet to see an LG phone top any other maker’s phone overall. Until that, they cant charge 200. An idiot would buy this over S4 or HTC One.

    1. Outside of not including a stylus, why would this be a bad deal? Besides, only an idiot would compare this to an s4 or the HTC one since neither one are in the same form factor category as this phone.

      1. It looks like a bigger version of the S3 and S4 and it could definitely be mistaken as a Galaxy Note 2.

    2. The S4 is even in the same class

    3. the optimus G was a solid phone, this appears to be continuing that trend. I’ll consider giving it a whirl if LG opens up to the dev community. If they make it a b***h to root/ROM, then you can forget it.

  7. Snapdragon 600?

  8. Exclusive to att? Wrong way to launch a flagship! :/

    1. It worked for Nokia!

      …oh wait.

      1. to be fair, it wouldn’t have worked out for Nokia either way >.> availability isn’t the problem, windows phone 8 is.

    2. Hopefully its just the 32 gig model that’s exclusive and everyone else will get the 16

      1. my neighbor’s mother-in-law makes $63 every hour on the laptop. She has been without a job for six months but last month her income was $16925 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read more on  Zap22.com

    3. Need this on Sprint real bad

  9. It’s good deal for 200 on contract.

  10. Here we go again with daammmnnnnn exclusives…

  11. Those fuckers

  12. Ok I trade my phone in to get a 5.5″ 1080p 32gb phone with removable battery and expandable memory for 99.00! now that’s a deal that would be very hard to turn down. you can always root to get rid of the bloat and as far as the stylus I had the galaxy note before my current phone I can easily live without it.

    1. If the devs jump aboard .

      1. Exactly, I want to know what the Dev support would be, and will this see 4.2.2 or above anytime soon? For that matter why is LG even putting out new hardware with 4.1.2 to begin with in May 2013?

  13. well that looks NOTHING like a galaxy S 3 or 4 …..

    1. Exactly what I was thinking..

      1. i mean seriously? with the flip cover and shape and oval button… but on top of hardware they just came up with the idea to do the dual camera feature as well… I mean don’t get me wrong this looks like a good phone but where is the originality… its the same price as the s4 yet they only decided to copy half the features and offer nothing unique, id go with the s4 without hesitating

        1. LG’s UI is so much smoother and less bloated than Touchwiz and people could argue all day about who had what features first like dual recording etc but I believe LG showed it off first does it mean they had those features first? Hell no but who cares anyway. I would take an IPS over AMOLED any day.

          1. i DO agree with you on the screen thing, but samsung has been getting a lot better at supporting their devices over the past few iterations and that is something that makes a difference to me… i still think i would lean samsung even thought IPS screen is much sexier

          2. True but there was a time when Samsung sucked at getting updates out. Lately though LG has stepped up and delivered updates to most current devices, they are still too slow at doing it but updates are coming now.

        2. The dual camera feature was shown at MWG before the S4 even came out.

          1. your avatar is sexy, that is all I have to say to you

  14. Dimensions:150.2 x 76.1 x 9.4 mm (5.91 x 3.00 x 0.37 in) …
    Note 2: 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm (5.95 x 3.17 x 0.37 in)

    1. So slightly shorter and slightly narrower, not bad and a great display.

  15. This looks interesting to me. I’ve held off on the S4 because I would like to wait for the note 3. I’ll see what the reviews look like, but this could be a contender if I get tired of waiting.

    1. Here you go, GSM Arena has a review out already. http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g_pro-review-904.php

      1. Thanks!!

  16. Dam I was hoping this would be on Sprint.

  17. Dang it Verizon. Get your s$%& together and launch a phone already.

  18. exclusive fail……

  19. Come on LG why are you making the same mistake HTC is doing with their AT&T exclusive deal? Blanket the US carrier markets. Samsung is killing it with their approach in selling their Galaxy line. I can get an S4 from any number of carriers, LG should do the same with their flagship devices.

I’ll never understand why a company thinks it’ll make more money from one carrier…
