[Update] HTC One shown off in last minute leak

35

We’re just a couple of hours away from HTC’s big event in New York City where we expect the Taiwanese company to announce its latest flagship, the HTC One. We’ve heard so much about the device leading up to this point, and even HTC itself has been teasing us with a few meatless bones here and there.

Welp, the latest leaks are in and here’s what we can expect to see once HTC takes the stage later this morning. Above is a new leak that shows the same black variant that was leaked before, but we also get a glimpse of a new silver version that we haven’t yet seen. The leak also shows the back of the device in its final form. According to these images there won’t be any rear-facing speakers, but if you don’t remember HTC is including stereo speakers on the face of this thing — very nice, if I say so myself.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

[Update: Ubuntu tablet?] Could HTC also be bringing a tablet to New York City? [PICS]

  1. I think it looks very nice now that I can see the whole thing.

  2. Goodbye HTC! This garbage effort will not save you…

    1. Thanks for the lolz

  3. Its a complete rip off of iphone 5..!:( HTC designs are meant to be new and different..!
I wish they did something original..!

    1. So they started working on this after the I phone 5 was released in September? This phone was obviously in preproduction way before the iPhone or Z10 where announced. The unibody design itself originated with HTC with the One X variant, the Evo LTE. Some of you Sammy fanboys need to relax. I’m not saying anyone who dislikes the competition is automatically a Samsung fanboy but..

      1. Exactly… I really hate when people talk out of their butts.

      2. I see what he is saying. its not a complete rip of iphone5, but the back does look A LOT like the iphone5 minus the camera location

    2. OK…I can only assume your comment is sarcastic. I don’t care for this phone but I think it is absolutely original. AND it looks NOTHING like the iphone 5. Still down-voted for a dumb comment or a lack of characters to show sarcasm.

    3. You’re welcome to your opinion, but you didn’t specifically highlight a single characteristic you think it has “ripped off”.

      TROLL ;)

  4. It’s beautiful.

  5. I don’t like this at all. I know it’s a matter of taste and that’s the good thing about diversity but this is not the phone I want for myself. I’ll be waiting for Samsung Galaxy S IV and Google/Motorola X Phone before making up my mind.

  6. what i hear “blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Quad Core blah blah blah blah blah blah Gigabyte blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blah”

  7. I cant wait to get a hold of one of these.

  8. What I got ogg

  9. Quentyn, please take this video down. Thank you!

  10. What I got off this video:
    – Full HD S-LCD 3 display
    – Android 4.1
    – Snapdragon S600
    – 32Gb of internal storage
    And a flippin’ amazing design!

  11. My opinion might change when I actually get to see one in person, but for now, I’m still not digging it. I know are going to say it was in the design phase before the iPhone 5 was release, but it still looks very similar, and I’m not so sure that’s in a good way yet. Oh well, that’s one of the best attributes of Android handsets. Different strokes for different folks.

  12. Looks decent, but it’s still the usual HTC sillyness that will turn me away.
Small battery, capacitive buttons, and locked bootloader, undoubtedly no chance to get s-off.

Now if they released timely updates, I wouldn’t care so much and just have issue with the battery… but we all know that will never change.

  13. Its a nice looking phone.. but with HTCs poor history of product support, why would I consider buying this?? Not to mention its likely that they failed to get Verizon on board.

  14. I saw the video. It was great. Almost surreal.

  15. Where have you been as a writer for phandroid if you didn’t see the silver/white one in earlier leaked renders?

    1. I saw the earlier ones, but not with the final design we’re seeing now. It looked a lot different.

      1. It doesn’t look any different than the on Evleaks posted a few days ago.

        1. I wasn’t speaking of that leak.

  16. I like the contrast between the bezel and speaker faces. Not at all like an iPhone (like some are saying).
The dual front-facing speakers will probably blow away the competition. Awesome for watching videos.

    1. Except for when you turn it to landscape mode. Not sure how other people watch videos that way, but my thumbs/palms tend to cover that area.

      1. clearly you’re “doing it wrong” ;)
… holding it that why is fine IFF you have a large top/bottom bezel (lefty/righty).
I’ve found that holding it that way puts more torque on the screen and can easily slip out.

I typically use my thumb and forefinger to crab-pinch both sides & rest the back on my middle finger. For a 2-handed hold (e.g. gaming) I rest on both fore & middle fingers, and press/play with thumbs.

  17. Looks like it only has a home and back button… No menu or multitask? *sigh*

    1. Good find!

  18. looks like blackberry Z10

  19. I bet it has a curved screen like HTC Sensation, that no screen protector fits on it…. just don’t mess it up HTC!

  20. It’s going to be crazy expensive to get unlocked, since I hate 2 year contracts. But this one might be worth it. I’ll keep an eye on it.
