Android 4.2.2 could roll out this month

15

Google is reportedly set to launch a small update to Android 4.2 later this month, according to a report from The International Business Times. The update, which could be the last for the Jelly Bean version of Android before Key Lime Pie debuts at May’s Google I/O conference, is said to bring minor fixes and tweaks to the OS.

The most notable adjustments will come in the form of Bluetooth improvements, something we have heard previously. The update is currently in testing internally and could reach phones, namely the Nexus 4, by mid march.

  1. And the Verizion GNex is still stuck on 4.1.1

    1. This is why I will never be a Verizon customer. Their prices are outrageous, and they mess up perfectly good phones. My gnex is up to date and running just fine on Tmobile.

      1. Amen Sista!

  2. My Nexus 10 will be waiting.

  3. We are still in February.

  4. I guess no more s3 updates :- I’m still on 4.1.1

  5. Don’t use bt that much…hope it fixes some of the things Ron Amadeo pointed out

  6. GSM Galaxy Nexus waiting patiently…at 4.2.1 now.

    1. Does your Galaxy Nexus, seem slow in performance now?

      1. lol exactly

      2. Oh yes it is. 4.1.2 was perfect. Starting from 4.2, Jellybean just isn’t the same on the GNex.

        1. I am just making sure, wasn’t sure if it was just me or not. Glad I have the Nexus 4 though.

        2. My wife’s Galaxy Nexus is faster on 4.2.1. She uses a bunch of widgets and live wallpaper too. Go figure.

      3. Well, I came from a T-Mobile G1, so it is still fast to me! ;-) But, yeah, anything new (Nexus 4) will probably appear faster. I haven’t personally noticed slowdown on Android version upgrades. It may be starting to show its age now, though. I’m content with it for now…trying to wait as long as possible before upgrading and stick to my “use the phone for at least 2 years before buying a new one” personal plan, i’m not on a contract, using Straight Talk AT&T SIM.)

  7. Agreed.. Mid-March isn’t this month …

I am good with my 4.1.1 … If I see another update, great.. If not, not going to get bent out of shape.
