13

Rock Apex Launcher on your ICS phone? Then you might want to head over to Google Play and spend 4 of your hard-earned dollars on it. Or not, no pressure.

Anyway, what do you get for your $4? Glad you asked:

  • Multiple configurable drawer tabs
  • Unread count notifications
  • Dock swipe gestures
  • Two finger gestures
  • More transition effects
  • Batch add option for folders
  • Option to merge folder contents
  • Widgets in dock (1×1 only)
  • Overlapping widgets
  • More features on the way!

  1. bought this about an hour after it came out. actually works better on my ics a500 than nova, and IMHO its also more user friendly. Serms to give more options (at least, ones i would actually use) than nova as well. i dont understand the people who are having issues with it.

  2. I thought this was in Google Play for a while now. Anyway, unfortunately Apex doesn’t give the option to change icon size or icon label size, which is a deal breaker for me.

  3. I’m just fine with Go Launcher EX, thank you!

    1. You should just stick with gingerbread then… seriously, go launcher sucks on ICS.

      1. I don’t know what your problem is, it works great for me.

        1. Also a longtime go user, At this time Go Launcher does nothing to add to native functionality of ICS. Time for a major update. I made the switch to apex a few days ago.

    2. who would use go launcher or adw on an ics device. it boggles the mind to no end

      1. The two big reasons I use GoLauncher on my tablets running ICS are FULL real estate (every other launcher I’ve tried keeps the horrible 1/4 inch border that I cannot use on the screen), and more important to me, a Right side dock when in landscape mode. I can easily navigate using my right hand which is already on the side..  Takes up less space than across the bottom, and easier to swipe with one hand.
Ohh and having unique icon gestures is amazingly useful, not just ‘dock gestures’ but each app gets it’s own gesture area. I press my phone to go to the call screen, or swipe up for contacts on it. etc..

  4. Nova launcher is currently the best. More intuitive and easier to customize and is butter smooth and has a ton of options.

  5. bought it.  didnt need the extra features but wanted to support the developers.  Apex is the best.

  6. I heard someone say this launcher doesn’t allow icon size changes. Does that mean you can’t change the grid resolution? My main reason for using LauncherPro is so I can change my grid to be 5 across by like 8 up and down. I’m on the Amaze, not on ICS yet.

    1. Maybe they mean the physical size of the icon, which you can’t resize. But you CAN set the grid size. On my ICS phone, I find 4×6 the ideal grid.

I’m also a former LauncherPro user, and Apex is amazing, definitely prefer it over Nova. Both are miles ahead of all Gingerbread launchers though.
