O2 UK Galaxy S II Now Receiving Android 4.0

6

It appears O2 UK have beaten their target window of Mid-April for the Galaxy S II’s update to Ice Cream Sandwich by a long shot. It’s still March – late March, mind you, but it’s March – and the update is now rolling out to users. You’ll need to get it through Kies, but we’re sure that small inconvenience won’t bother most of you. Be sure to connect your phone and search for the update now.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Vodafone UK get your cat together!  What exactly are you doing to the phone?  If I receive an update with Vodafone 720 I’ll not be happy… that is until CM9 is released and then I’ll be very happy!!

  2. Cool, wonder if that means everyone else will get ICS a little earlier….So I can look forward to December for my TMo SGII instead of March next year…

  3. my co-worker’s mother brought in $20235 the prior week. she is making cash on the internet and got a $574200 condo. All she did was get blessed and try the directions leaked on this web page >>>> LazyCash1.com

  4. I know this will sound like such a noob question.. but does this include the Samsung Epic 4G Touch when they do begin rolling out ICS in the U.S? I’m only asking because when I boot my phone it does have the “Samsung Galaxy SII” logo displaying.

  5. Yawn. By the time U.S. Galaxy S II’s get this, my Nexus will be on JellyBean.

  6. Hi, just installed ICS on my S2 through Kies (I’m with O2).

Straight away I notice the device seems much quicker/smoother.

I now have video calling through Google Talk, which for some reason was omitted in the 2.3.4 update (not sure if that was by Samsung or O2).

All in all very happy. I’m glad the carriers are finally getting the message that they will retain customers if they push the updates to their flag ship devices in a timely manner.

Hopefully the update will also improve the battery life.
