Swype for Android Update Coming Within the Next Few Days to Add Android 4.0 Support

Swype revealed that they would soon be bringing an update to their Android application to support Ice Cream Sandwich devices and it looks like we won’t have to wait long to see that update land into the laps of users everywhere. They have tweeted that their next update is “only days away.” Other than the addition of Android 4.0 support this will likely be a slight bug fixer. We’ll be sure to let you guys know the moment that update goes live in the Android market. [Twitter]

  2. Hopefully one of the bug fixes is allowing the user to make the spacebar larger. I’ve had to correct many sentences that.looked.like.this.

  3. My Titanium’d version of Swype works just fine on my ICS Rom’d Rezound

    1. Works fine on CM9 as well.

  4. Wait, Swype is finally in the Android Market? That news is worthy of a post in and of itself!

    Edit: Actually, Swype is not in fact in the Android Market. You guys should really correct the last line of this post.

  5. The gnex keyboard is way nicer than it first seems. You can type pretty fast on it.

  7. Swype works just fine on my Android 4.0 device (a Nexus S running 4.0.3). It seems Swype has a problem with the resolution of the Galaxy Nexus, not with Ice Cream Sandwich.

    1. I have it on my Galaxy Nexus, so obviously it isn’t a problem…

    2. Same here. Totally fine on my on my Nexus S on 4.0.3.

  8. Good, hopefully it integrates with ICS’s context menus, it was annoying having to hit the swype key to correct words to get around ICS’s pop-ups

    1. that’s the only thing that annoys me about it on my GNex currently…

  11. Same here: works fine on my nexus S T-Mobile. In fact, i was afraid to upgrade to ICS because y’all and others said of wouldn’t. Glad I didn’t listen…

  12. i just upgraded to the gnex and having trouble pulling over my swype keyboard.  it seems like some of you have been able to do it, can you help me with it please?  thanks
