LG Spectrum (Revolution 2) Shows Up In New Higher Resolution Press Shot – Specs Confirmed

20

It was barely a few days ago that the LG Spectrum was leaked in a fairly small promo shot, giving us an idea of what to expect from the device when it hits Verizon later this year. Well, the fellas at Pocketnow have secured this all new higher res image of Verizon’s sequel to the Revolution and if there was ever any question about the specs — we have those too.

  • Dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3
  • Android Gingerbread 2.3
  • 10.6 millimeters thick
  • 4.5-inch, 1280×720 IPS LCD
  • 1GB RAM, 4GB storage plus 16GB microSD
  • 8MP, 1080p rear camera; 1.3-megapixel front-facing
  • Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • HDMI, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct
  • 1830mAh battery
  • Simultaneous voice and LTE data
  • 10-device LTE hotspot

All-in-all, pretty much your standard high-end Android offering. LG recently released the Optimus LTE in their homeland but with 2 different body styles, one of which just hit AT&T as the LG Nitro HD. Have to say, while the new stylings of the Spectrum are much more flattering than the previously beefy Revolution, I think the AT&T variant is clearly the better looking sibling. Now, if only LG could quickly update this device to stock Android 4.0, I think we would have a real winner on our hands.

  1. Good for Verizon I wanna get the GN and then the quad core one next year :D

  2. Well there is a lot of top phones on verizon for a change. Good for people who want a choice

    1. You’re a reasonable thinker, Chris. Cool name too..

      1. Ha thank you. I hate the people that bash a phone becuase it isn’t what they like. I mean at least before it was android vs apple now it is apple vs android vs android lol. Choice is a good thing and a different taste for everyone. Can’t beat verizon’s holiday lineup. Plus I used to have lg phones back in the feature phone days and they held up really well.

        1. To be honest with you I told myself yesterday that I would stop bashing the iPhone, and the reason why is we all have one thing in common we like mobile tech, so why not come together and instead of bashing have great conversation about what we like and dislike about our phone’s and try to force these manufacturers and carrier’s into what we want and not what they want to give us for our average of $800.

  3. bigger battery..hmm.

  4. …………why does lg make phones again? lol..

  5. Hella thick

  6. 4gb of built in storage and 2.3?!

    1. Toss in a micro sd card to add to the 4GB internal storage. Simple as that. They didnt remove the slot.
No way would they be announcing new ICS devices before Verizon launches the first ICS device… Kind of need to get the first one out the door first, you know?

      1. Sdcards are not the cure all. Some apps cannot be installed to sd leaving you with limited space. As for the ics argument, the first ics phone launches tomorrow, and this is just an announcement not a release for the lg spectrum. If they were worried about announcing it before nexus they only had to wait one more day.

        1. You seriously need more then 4GB of internal storage for just apps? I’d hate to see your app tray. ;)
I see where your coming from tho. To each their own i guess.

They could’ve waited, but they didnt. Also, seeing as the device appear to mearly be a Verizons own Optimus LTE/Nitro I doubt they’d announce it to be releasing with ICS since it’s not available for the other 2 as of yet. It will hopefully come sometime soo tho, but knowing LG……

My brother is still waiting for his GB update for his Thrill so…… XD

          1. No I don’t need more than 4gb for apps but a lot more than just apps is stored on your main partition.

*edit: also many phones limit how much of the internal storage is actually accessible by the user. Take the 3VO, it has 4gb of storage if I remember correctly but only 1gb of that is available for use with apps and stuff.

  7. So basically Verizons getting their own LG Optimus LTE/LG Nitro variant?
That’s what it looks and sounds like to me.

  8. “Simultaneous voice and LTE data”
This ‘should’ substantially improve the battery life vs other LTE devices on Verizon.  Now if only it were a Nexus phone.

    1. Hey Ben, just letting you know all of the LTE phones have simultaneous voice and data.

  9. Ooooo lg who gives a fuck u keep trying to put all kinds of good stuff in ur piece of shit phones and no one gives a rats about it u fool me once with the g2x but ur not sucking me in wit this sac of shit . Ill stick wit HTC and Samsung better way to go.

  10. It would be great if LG updates their phone into ICS.

  11. any idea on when the new ics phones will be coming?

  12. And my girlfriend is all excited about this phone because she has the first revolution.
