LG today took to Facebook to inform everyone that some of the rumors they’ve bee hearing were false. The rumor was that the Optimus 2X – one of the first Tegra 2 phones and dual-core phones period – would not be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
According to them, that’s not true. They have reassured everyone that they are certainly planning on bringing Ice Cream Sandwich to not only the Optimus 2X, but to 0ther high-end phones of theirs.
Like other OEMs, LG can’t confirm a rollout window until Google drops the public source. Once they do get the source, however, we hope it won’t be too long before their plans come to fruition. In other words, if you have a dual-core phones (and maybe even a couple of single core phonnes) by LG, chill out – you likely have nothing to worry about. It’s not back peddling, which by the way are what a lot of companies are doing these days. It’s a rumor. Know the difference. In this day and age of social networking, rumors get around fast. It has nothing to do with public outcry.
You are incorrect, it was not a rumour, the question was asked and answered by LG India, and of course, the response have since been removed, but this is the internet, nothing is ever truly removed, so my initial statement still stands, the public outcry was enough to have them delete the response and change their tune, that is the perfect definition of back peddling Joseph30
