Sharp AQUOS Phone 102SH Revealed – 3D HD Screen, 12MP Camera, Dual-core Processor

Look! It’s Godzirra! Okay, not quite. But it is another amazing Android smartphone from Japan — this time featuring a huge 4.5-inch 1280×720 HD display. Apparently, Sharp is the Android manufacturer to beat with 25% of the market share in Japan. The Sharp AQUOS Phone 102SH is the company’s latest offering of premium Android handsets for the masses. Let’s show them specs!

It doesn’t just stop at the aforementioned 4.5-inch HD screen. This crystal clear AQUOS display also features glasses-free 3D with a pixel density of 329dpi (I got goosebumps). Also on the menu is a 12MP CMOS camera with HD video recording capabilities, 1GHz TI OMAP4430 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 2.2GB ROM and once again — its waterproof. My favorite part? The infrared connection and digital TV tuner. The Sharp AQUOS Phone 102SH will also take advantage SoftBank’s “Ultra Speed” 21Mbps network in Japan.

No word yet on pricing but the Sharp AQUOS 102SH is expected to debut in Japan in December with mention that it could see a worldwide release sometime in the near future. Call it the “grass is greener” syndrome but I’m really digging the design and color options of these Android handsets coming out of Japan. What do you guys think? Hot or not?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  4. I guess the camera sensor marketing people have found out they can’t sell the MP hype in regular cameras and have moved onto cellphones.

  5. Wish a manufacture would stop with the mega pixel crap and actually improve something that matters… Like I don’t know? The ridiculously slow shutter speeds that make smartphone cameras almost worthless!

    1. HTC have done that with their latest sense 3+ phones. It’s one of the features on the sensation.

    2. As photographers used to say, “A camera is box that hold a lens.” The box is not that important, the lens is. Until the lens is improved beyond the 1/8″ piece of plastic, photos on phones will always be of poor quality. And of course, no one remembers to wipe there hand/fingerprints of the lens before they shoot with a phone.

    1. “We have close to crap… ” We do have crap here in the States. We simply have a government that wants to keep the citizens as disconnected as possible. If the general public knew how bad their elected officials were screwing them, they would not get elected. Why else do you think the news is controlled and information is constantly withheld?

  12. ha ha ha godzirr! i laughed my ass off! not.

  13. Very nice phone! I would love one of these. Is it just me or does that 5th button on the dock look very honeycomb preview-ish. ICS?

  14. Those crazy Japanese and their amazing gadgets…

3D on phones was done over there or China first, probably by Sharp too.

    1. Nope. South Korea. LG Optimus 3D P920

  15. So there is no 3d camera on. 3d phone? That’s a bit odd.
