Updated HTC Thunderbolt OTA Page on Verizon Likely Means Rollout is Close

16

Verizon’s updated the Thunderbolt’s OTA PDA file on their website to reflect the changes in the latest update for the HTC Thunderbolt to Android 2.3. One of the most notable features they mention is the customizable dock on the homescreen, but we also get some power management and download management goods.

There is a whole laundry list of updates, changes and enhancements so take a look at that below. Over the weekend, this same build was leaked for those to flash and use. You can find the download and instructions here.

We won’t jump the gun and say that leak is likely final, but we’d at least tell you not to worry as it seems HTC and Verizon are indeed on track to deliver this thing by the end of this month (this Friday). [AP]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. About time… I hope to see a great mod built on this base once it is final and released. The Thunderbolt has been a great phone thanks to all of the DEV Support.

  2. the SMS sends to correct recipients is clutch! i cant believe its taken them this long to fix that. i cant believe that was ever an issue to begin with.

    1. you don’t know how many inappropriate texts have been sent to the wrong person….kind of funny looking back

      1. I can 2nd that. One time I thought I was chatting with my wife, turned out to be some guy who worked for a company that I contract for. Luckily I figured it out quickly.

        1. One instance, I was jokingly using the N word with one of my corny white friends and it got sent to a black dude I play ball with. Another time I sent a dirty text to a girl and my aunt ended up getting it…..awkward on both counts.

  3. ROFLMAO!!!! Sounds like the Thunderbolt is the last to get these updates. Hasn’t HTC noticed that most have already switched brands or phones or even rooted out of complete frustration on their lies and deception

  4. Just in time to hold me over for the Vigor/Prime!

  5. I love this statement “Reduced Force Close errors when using the front camera.” Not that we fixed it, but it’ll FC a lot less on you.

  6. Too bad the release article on what is being updated is Wrong, Gee i know a real shock coming from VZ. there is no new Dock

    1. Why has no one else here commented on this? This seems like a huge oversight and an indication that the whole PDF is incorrect…

  7. Never had a problem ever, mot with tect, gps, or anything else.

  8. I flashed the version stated in the post and I don’t see anything about a customizable dock…..anybody else seen what is being talked about??

  9. HOLY SHIT. Downloading NOW!!!!

  10. sorry for my language, but I had to do this on 1X last time and its coming through in LTE now. package is 146Mb

  11. How do you change the dock icons?

  12. Well I see why they didn’t update yet. My signal is switching to edge and 3g a lot plus evertime I back out of an app it force closes all the apps even system and it made the phone real slow and mean slow. So hope to see another soon but will see. People need to chill on the we need the update now thing because this is what you get, when you have people messing with these updates.
