You may remember a few weeks ago when Samsung unveiled their “Galaxy Chart” showing off the different categories of Galaxy devices and what to expect from each one. Well, one line of those devices was the Galaxy W and if you can see from the picture, it seems to line up perfectly with the Samsung T679 that passed through the FCC today on its way to T-Mobile. Fitting for its Galaxy W tier, the T679 will feature a 800×480 display, 1.4GHz processor, 4GB of internal memory and running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It will be a mid-level device and will most likely carry an affordable price tag.

Wow. For an affordable device, those specs are still pretty damn impressive.
I was thinking the same thing… 1.4Ghz chip? 800×480 is the same as what’s on the Galaxy S. Depends on if its Super Amoled or not.
I wonder if it’s not dual core though.
Super AMOLED is a great screen and all, but I would rather have a decent, power-efficient screen.
This may seem blasphemous, but how often do we have the screen brightness on high, in optimal conditions?
I am less interested in above-and-beyond qualities, and would rather have a reasonable, efficient, lag-less phone. Samsung’s ‘tiered’ scheme might fit the bill
yaa it is ..but whats the actual price in india..im waiting to buy this…
Hey Ricky it would be around 17-18 k only. It would arrive in November in India, currently it is releasing in Europe only because ACE, S2 are banned there….@bksanyam
The 1.4ghz is single core, def not close to what the Galaxy SII has.
Samsung is pushing out some bad ass phones. Even there lower end devices are bad ass.
Go samsung
