Part 2 Of Droid Bionic Teaser Trailer Surfaces – Finally Gives Us the Money Shot

25

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Verizon’s marketing when it comes to their DROID line of phones but this one may change all that. You may remember the uber-hot Droid Bionic chick from the last teaser trailer, well — she’s back and finishing what she started with the kicking some serious robot butt. The story continues with her gathering the best pieces of tech from her fallen foes (ala Megaman) to build a phone that will “rule all machines.” I know, sounds pretty geeky but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get goosebumps while watching the vid. Now it’s your turn.

Oh- and as a bonus clip, I came across this test footage from the Motorola Droid Bionic showing off it’s video recording capabilities and once again, I got goosebumps. This is going to be one helluva device. If I was on Verizon, I don’t think I’d be able to resist this device. How about you guys?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. I am debating whether to get it or not. $300 is a good chunk of change.

    1. Not for all the tech offered in the Bionic.. But then again, I’m a single bachelor with little-to-no responsibilities so what do I know =p

      1. Yea, I am a college student who just rebuilt a car. The only way it is affordable for me is if I sell my Droid X right after.

  2. So is the 8th the release date for certain? The first teaser said the 8th on tv but verizon still doesn’t have any specs or anything on the website…

    1. They never put things on the website until the night before or even on release day. Its the 8th for sure. My store here in town already has 300 in stock.

      1. Thanks Raun!

      2. Also do you know if Verizon is taking pre-orders on this phone?

  3. ^____^, looking forward to get my hands on this. I’m probably going to definitely get this bad boy.

  4. I saw this at the theaters yesterday…. so much for leaked footage.

    1. This wasn’t supposed to be “leaked footage” just wanted to show some of our readers who haven’t been to the movies lately or watch much television. =p

  5. Nice video footage. I am still debating to get this or to wait for the prime or vigor. But this device looks to be shaping up nicely. Normally I would reserve and jump right in, but I am going to wait for some reviews this time around in order to make a final decision.

    1. Have you seen the guy over at androidcentral. he has given a full review. He answers questions and has pretty much convinced everyone who has a question that the Bionic is pure awesome.

      1. Joe the Insider? I read his forum posts where he gives some thoughts and he did claim it’s the best android phone he has used to date, but I didn’t really see a full review :( Still sounds awesome though!

        1. No. Yes he gave good info. But this guy gives pretty much a full review. If you start reading from the beginning he answers a million questions and posts videos including speed test where he has speedtest running on thunderbolt and Bionic on the same server and Bionic kills the thunderbolt.

Also he posts HD video taken from the phone and pics.

Just start reading and you’ll be amazed.

  6. im glad to see some smart people on here!! not these idiots talking that whole: “this is last years tech!”. thats some of the dumbest stuff I’ve ever heard. people saying, “quad core is all ill take” last i checked, quad core is still not exactly all over the place, even in the desktop PC market. so no, turns out, this is sept 8, 2011 tech. good for everyone here this will be a beast of a phone. TI is a better overall chipset than snapdragon. not quite the exynos. i hope some of you that pick this up really enjoy it. If you don’t ill take it off your hands. Ill trade you my wife, she comes with pots and pans(for cooking), a toothbrush(for cleaning), and a bankcard(to buy groceries) hahahah jk jk jk jk. I’m going to go get killed now!

p.s.- for all of you wanting quad core. thats last years tech. I’ve got octocore. I’m I’m about to dump that for millinacore. thats a load of cores.

p.s.s. richardyarell is trolling a different site now, gets kicked off one more and he will get the turkey!!

    1. How hot is your wife?

  7. Um I live in northeast ohio and there was a verizon bionic commercial on tv this isn’t new or anything. Phandroid your kinda behind, love you and all but gitta keep up.

  8. I still havent seen the commercials on TV. Im watching prime time network TV and have not seen it. Only on youtube.

  9. So … is this really a metaphor for all the patent and lawsuit battles going on? Don’t create your own robot … instead smother the competition, buy them out, and then make their tech your own? Only question left is … which one of those robots was the iPhone?

    1. Since I saw parts for HDMI, dual core, 1080p recording, LTE…

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say none, since all that has been on Android before the iPhone by almost a year.

  10. i laugh when people drool over this but put down the galaxy s2. the video recording on the galaxy s2 are in my opinion a bit better. i just can’t wait for the us version so i can use the 4g speeds. that’s probably why we won’t see the galaxy s2 on verizon, it would steal too much thunder from the bionic. though i cannot argue the fact that the bionic is a helluva device. i have a feeling that the droid prime will put it to shame though.

    1. With NFC and stock Android? Those are welcomed additions but it won’t put it to shame.

    2. i dont think that the prime will be as bad ass of a device as everyone thinks. i think it will be a really good device but with the nexus s being over hyped and not any big specs like the nexus one delivered its not looking good. Galaxy S2 would of been nice on verizon though. but the bionic still has everything beat right now. The galaxy S 2 doesnt have true lte speeds. it has wimax.

  11. I cant believe this device TOO has a dual core! Wow It’s amazing that so many companies are going with what a few nerds on the android blogs were calling a ‘flawed design’. And we all know that commenters in android blogs are smarter than a roomful of engineers working on a phone for months and months.

  12. Give props to my man Bworley50 back at Android Central for that awesome review on the phone. He’s got like 20 or so videos up about it, he just stopped taking requests today, but you can get like any information you could possibly want from his videos.
