Motorola CLIQ 2 Gets Leaked Gingerbread Update

3

The folks at ModMyMobile have gotten their hands on something juicy – a Gingerbread update for the Motorola CLIQ 2. It’s surprising, really, but that’s only because we never expect to hear about new versions of Android for many of Motorola’s “less exciting” handsets. But if you’re one of those who weren’t scared away by MOTOBLUR or that actually likes the CLIQ 2, you’ll have something juicy to sink your teeth into. The developers responsible for the leak, Eccentric Vision and dlamber7, have not yet released the ROM because they are looking for ways to root it. There is no word on when Motorola will deliver the update, if at all. Follow development at ModMyMobile and follow the guys on Twitter here. [Thanks, Tatted!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  2. I am very excited for this. I love my Cliq 2. I just wish we could overclock the kernel.

  3. This phone sucks. The apps lock up, the data is hideous, not the phones fault I know, the screen delays when you are doing anything. The icons don’t show up sometimes. It has quit receiving texts and Gmail. This is the second of these I have had due to issues. It is PC vs. a Mac in iPhone and PC’s never win that battle. I would throw this phone in the trash except my employer supplies it. Junk.
