Acer Updating Specs on A501 Iconia Tab for AT&T – Now 64GB

When we last saw the Acer Iconia Tab A501 it was packing AT&T’s 3G and pretty much the same exact specs as the it’s A500 brother. Well, it looks like Acer may be updating the A501 if this FCC Permissive Change notice is any indication. Among some smaller changes like new touch and image sensors, we see a surprising increase in storage space — now a whopping 64GB.

This update will make the Acer Iconia Tab A501 the only Android tablet offering 64GB out of the box, finally pushing it into that higher end category to compete with the iPad 2 64GB (also on AT&T).

  1. So if it’s going to ATT does that mean it’s going to TMO too? Also what do you guys think about this tablet? I’ve been told that if you’re going to get an Acer you might as well just get the Asus Transformer because it does more. IDK, I’ll never make a desicion

    1. You just gotta go somewhere that has both (if that place exists) where you can hold them side-by-side and see what works best for yourself. Anything else is just somebody else’s opinion.

    2. Asus has the option of a keyboard and a better screen. Everything else is pretty much the same.

I’ve played with the Iconia Tab and the screen is god awful. Washed out and slow refresh rate. It’s sad =/
