ZeptoLabs’ Smash Hit Cut The Rope Available for Android This Friday

21

Not to be outdone by the recent announcement of Peggle hitting the Amazon Appstore, developers of the iOS smash hit, ZeptoLabs announced on their Twitter made specifically for the Android version of Cut The Rope, that they might have something in store for Android users this Friday.

While its obvious it is, in fact, the Android version of Cut The Rope, the only thing that remains to be seen is whether or not we can expect this in the normal Android Market or if it will follow the trend of popular gaming apps being released exclusively for the Amazon Appstore. Given the picture (above), I would assume the latter.

Either way, I can’t wait to get my thumbs on this and here’s to hoping it will be Amazon’s featured Free Paid app of the day!

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. HELL YES FINALLY

  2. @Chris this game doesn’t have to be free, it is only a dollar on iOS and in my opinion  it is way better than Angry Birds.

    1. Oh, really? I mean, even at $3 I wouldn’t complain. I honestly don’t mind spending that much for a great game app on my phone. That’s like a 6 piece chicken nugget. =p

  3. Android Market or GTFO

    1. Yeah, I’m really debating killing off my Angry Birds Rio and just picking up the Market version so I can get rid of the Amazon store. I hate having to have all these app store apps installed on my phone. I just want one on there and that’s it!

Unfortunately, I foresee this being an Amazon item first too. All I have to say is it better be free if that’s the case.

  4. Here’s hoping it will NOT be an Amazon featured Free Paid app of the day. Amazon app store is not available anywhere except the US, and we don’t get it in Canada. Google, on the other hand, tries to be international and inclusive with everything they do.

    1. I mean, I would rather the Android Market FOR SURE. Just saying if Amazon DOES nab the exclusive, hopefully it will be the free app of the day. Would take some of the sting off.

      1. Understandable. I just get annoyed at the mention of the Amazon app store, for obvious reasons.

    2. I’m in Canada and take advantage of Amazon’s app store almost daily. You simple have to side load the app with a little digital trickery, which, if I’m not mistaken, was actually explained on this very website when the Amazon App Store first launched.

  5. Yeah, Amazon is US only. what gives?

  6. Man I hope that Amazon Crap Store dies a quickly… U.S only… and will never have the integration of the official Android Market…

  7. Hmm… what other games are we missing after this?

    1. Infinity Blade
      Street Fighter
      Dead Space
      Sky Combat
      Rage HD
      Final Fantasy
      Cartoon Wars 2

  8. Grrr. I hate Amazon App Store. Unless you’re American, you’re screwed. :(

    1. I’m glad for my free pvz. from the other week o/

And yet i’m in the uk..

  9. I refuse to install the Amazon app store just so to play a game. I couldnt care less if its free or not.

I only want one market to manage my purchased apps. And thats the Android Market!

Always wanted to install Plant vs Zombies on my phone to play around. Too bad they chose to be an Amazon exclusive.

  10. For all you people complaining about the Amazon Appstore being exclusive to the US, there is a loophole. All you have to do is make an account with a fake American credit card number.

    1. Shouldn’t be needing a loophole.  Companies should get their asses in to gear and release digital items globally.  There are no physical barriers on the ‘net and if you cannot do business properly in that environment then you’ll suffer the indignation of those that know better.

Honestly why do they bother with geofencing *at all* ? stupid publishers with heads stuck in the stone ages no doubt.

  11. How do we even know this isn’t a fake? A recently created twitter account posts a 2 minute ms paint picture and automatically everyone think it’s real…
