No Contract T-Mobile Optimus T for $175

10

I have a friend named Travis. He’s afraid of commitment but he also demands the most bang for his buck. Well, I have some good news for him and others like him. According to this screenshot, it appears as if the T-Mobile Optimus T will be available this week for $175 without a contract.

Whenever I see a nice, full featured, entry level phone with a sub $200 price tag and no strings attached. I get excited. LG’s Optimus line of smartphones is one of the few “budget” phones I can stand behind. Solid nice looking hardware and preloaded with Android 2.2. What’s not to like?

Couple this with T-Mobile’s new $60 Unlimited Even More Plus plan, and you just might have enough money to take your girl for a romantic evening at Sizzler.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. that’s a sweet deal. the lg optimus line are by far the best entry level android devices.

    1. Totally agree. I wouldn’t go any “lower” than this though… =p

  2. Does this require data plan when you buy one?

    1. I’m not sure any of T-Mo’s no contract phones REQUIRE that you pay for data?

  3. Your friend Travis should get a prostitute. He can certainly avoid commitment and get a lot of bang for his buck.

    1. lol

  4. “you just might have enough money to take your girl for a romantic evening at Sizzler.” LMAO! Chris you just made everyone in my office look at me in a very strange way.

  5. I think the correct old person term is “The Sizzler”.
T-Mobile is really putting forth an effort to sell some phones.

  6. I bought my Optimus T in November off-contract for $239, and popped in my prepaid SIM. Curious if there is any physical difference between what I bought and the “new” off-contract version. I mostly hang out near WiFi so I have no need for a data plan, but the 30MB that comes with the $30/1500 min prepaid “plan” does come in handy once in a while.

  7. Perhaps they are feeling the heat from Optimus V at $149?
