HTC Site Shows EVO 3D with GSM Radio

17

The HTC EVO 3D is a CDMA Android smartphone headed to Sprint, right? If you ask the HTC product site, that is not the only place we might be finding the handset featuring a glasses-free 3D display. The site has a product listing for the EVO 3D that sports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.

It doesn’t look like the listing is a mistake, but has HTC played their hand sooner than intended? When the original EVO was released, folks in Europe and around the world yearned for a similar Android device, which they were finally granted in the form of the HTC Desire HD last fall. HTC might not want to keep people on the edge of their seats so long this time, but no official announcement of a GSM EVO 3D has been made.

    1. First to fail.

      1. haha win

  2. Evo 3D in At&T… LOL

  3. It definitely won’t be called “EVO” though

    1. Exactly. If it’s legit it will probably be a Desire 3D if anything and it’ll be a long while before it sees the light of day.

    2. The T-Mobile G3D or MyTouch 3D, AT&T doesn’t have any dedicated Android names yet. Verizon (even though they’re not a gsm company) could call theirs the 3D Droid.

      1. tmo does not operate on those bands.
edit: sorry, my bad, you weren’t saying that at all

  4. I just looked on the site myself and I don’t see anything about any GSM radio on the EVO 3D.

  5. I read over in a thread in XDA that someone contacted HTC about this and stated that it was a mistake.

  6. This is black hole. Fuck you nigger!

  7. I don’t believe this will happen htc already said it was a mistake. But if you think about maybe in some crazy way this also could be the pyramid what would they take out??? After all there was no pyramid announcement for tmobile at ctia this whole week.

  8. If something like this was coming to Verizon it would make my day.

  9. HTC better stop treating the rest of the world as the dump site for their midrange experiments and launch a proper flagship, their track record in Europe is seriously overrated at this point…

    1. The American wireless market is the most lucrative in the world – hence all the best phones getting released here first.

  10. Evo 3D GSM equals big loss for Sprint, so this is more likely a mistake. But, I hope I’m wrong… :) I’d love to get a GSM version myself… :)
