Dell Streak 7 WiFi Gets Certification, Goes Up For Presale on Amazon for $380

5

The Dell Streak 7 has been out for quite a while, but a lot of you have been holding out for a WiFi-only version to help cope with the fact that it doesn’t have Android 3.0. (At the moment, anyway.) You folks will be happy to know that the tablet sans 3G radios has gotten its WiFi certification and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Just $380 will get you the 7 inch tablet, but Amazon has not released any further availability information. The Dell Streak 7 is a follow-up to the original 5 inch version available on T-Mobile, but is missing phone functionality. It’s a bit beefier as far as specs go – it has a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a front-facing VGA camera and 16 gigs of internal storage – but the resolution is sadly the same at WVGA.

There’s also no guarantee that this thing will ever get official Honeycomb love. (Especially after learning that Dell has a specific 10-inch Honeycomb tablet in the works.) Let’s hope the folks at XDA can help change that sooner or later. [Amazon, WiFi Alliance via StreakSmart]
