XDA Ready to Serve Dessert, Froyo Seen Running on a MyTouch 3G [Video]

Before you read the rest of this post, watch the video: the music will make you happy. Anyway, Android-France has a video showing an unofficial port of Froyo on the HTC Magic. We knew the XDA scene was hard at work on SDK image-based ports for the Magic/T-Mobile MyTouch 3G already (as well as the T-Mobile G1 and the HTC Droid Eris), but we hadn’t seen Android 2.2 running live on any of these phones yet.

There are a lot of bugs yet to be worked out (as is expected from an image port) but they’re still hammering out the kinks on it. Head over to XDA for the details and the download link to try it out on your HTC Dream or Magic yourself, if you dare.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I really don’t get why people may want to get an SDK image in their phones. It lacks lots of things of a production release. And for Froyo is even worse, there’s no JIT in the SDK image…

  2. Dessert <– two "S" because you want dessert twice but only be stuck in a desert ONCE.

  3. Those phones will be buggy with that on it.
Better waiting till its been finished.

  4. haha good one dark

  5. … I just have 2.1 on my MyTouch… I want Froyo!
