If one thing is very clear, Google has been taking gaming quite seriously as of late. Last month they brought ex-SCEA manager of developer relations Mark DeLoura (pictured) on board as their Developer Advocate for Gaming, they recently acquired LabPixies to help boost development of games and apps for Google’s various platforms, and have put an emphasis on game development with events at Google I/O. Now they are searching for the next piece of the puzzle, a Product Management Leader for Games.
Think you have what it takes? The job is currently waiting to be filled, and the duties include both aiding in-house development as well as extending the reach of Google to third-part developers.
We all know gaming hasn’t exactly been a strong point for Android, but with the speed and efficiency of Froyo and some powerful handsets coming to market, hardware and software should no longer be an issue. Google looks to be getting their act together when it comes to the development side, so hopefully it won’t be long until we are enjoying some truly great Android games.

No clue whether Apple gives any of the big companies (Popcap, EA, etc.) any incentives to develop for their OS, but I’d imagine so… I don’t think it’d take much to sway them to develop for Android as well tho, just gotta land that one deal that proves to the rest of them there’s a marker for it… Then the potential profits to be gained will just convince the rest.
i wish sony would team up with them.. Imagine Android on ps3 FTW!!!

Sony and Google are very close buddy they are making a new TV together. Also Sony uses Google search on PSP and PS3 plus Google Earth on Life With PlayStation. I always write in their YouTube and Facebook account for them to make PS3 games. Google will a awesome second party developer for Sony king of perfect video games.

Im wondering if rather than making games, Google are using all these people to try and create a fantastic API specially for games development and heavily promote that? Work with other companies to create games rather than create them themselves.
i wonder what google plans to use them for? Either way Im interested to see what becomes of this.
