US Cellular Pegs July as the Month for HTC Desire

4

US Cellular is keeping no secrets about their very first Android device, and they want to brag about it just like you did to all your friends when you first got your hands on your Android. Aside from naming some specs that will be old news if you frequent this site or are a European who currently owns the Desire, they dropped some details on the release date of the phone. You can expect this one to arrive in July — that is, after US Cellular completes their “rigorous testing” of the device.

That’s not too much of a wait for US Cellular subscribers itching to get in on Android. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more news of availability and pricing, but heck, if you just follow US Cellular’s Facebook page they seem eager enough to give that info out themselves.

  1. Rigorous testing?

The phone works and has been working for months.

What testing could they possibly be doing?

  2. Well Jonny, the testing includes making sure the speed and reliability exceeds customers expectations not just working.

  3. I agree with Jonny, I understand the testing needs to be done, however, I am wanting an Android Phone NOW. My contract is up and I dont want to have to leave US Cellular to get an Android, but If I have to wait at least 2 1/2 Months, it may be worth leaving.
