Sony details Xperia Themes, says additional theme-able assets coming in future update

It was back towards the tail-end of December that Sony began updating many of their flagship devices to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, introducing something many have been begging from OEMs for years now — native theme support. According to Sony, we can expect Xperia Themes to get more robust in future updates.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra now comes in WiFi-only flavoring

It looks like Sony’s really taking this “phablet” thing to the next level. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra may have launched as a ridiculously over-sized phone, but that also seems to have paved a way for it to relaunch as a moderately sized tablet. Sony has announced that they’ve ripped the cellular radios out of […]

Sony QX10 and Q100 case mounts arrive for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra next month

While Sony’s QX10 and QX100 lens cameras are compatible with most Android devices via the handy PlayMemories app, it was the Sony Xperia Z1 that saw a specialized case to quickly mount the cameras directly onto the phone. Nothing super fancy, it merely offered the Xperia Z1 protection while offering a quick and easy way […]

The Sony Z Ultra didn’t enter the Google Play Store with the most graceful of moves. Sony gives update on Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 rollouts for Xperia devices

As you’d expect, Sony wants to get as many of their customers up to the latest version of Android that they can, and that won’t stop with the launch of Android 4.4 KITKAT.

CyanogenMod 10.2 nightlies come to Moto X, Sony Xperia Z Ultra

More folks will soon be able to get in on the CyanogenMod fun on some of the latest smartphones available. The ROM developers have made nightlies available for both the Motorola Moto X (certain unlocked versions, anyway) and Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra.

Sony SmartWatch 2, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra launch in the United States

Sony fans may be a bit miffed that the OEM doesn’t get as much carrier love in the United States as, say, HTC, Motorola, LG or Samsung, but if you’re on a GSM carrier and willing to drop the big bucks required to buy their devices unlocked, we have some good news for you.

Sony confirms Android 4.3 updates for its latest Xperia phones and tablets

It looks like Sony is quite serious about keeping their phones and tablets upgraded as the company has already committed to bringing Android 4.3 — which was announced yesterday — to its latest Xperia devices.

Sony announces Xperia Z Ultra phablet with 6.4-inch display, Snapdragon 800 and more

We’d heard Sony had some “big” news to drop at its Mobile Asia Expo press event, and it looks like that term was more literal than we imagined. Introducing the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, a 6.41-inch full HD tablet that houses Qualcomm’s 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.
