Motorola Photon 4G Overview

Sprint and Motorola have teamed up to bring us the Motorola Photon 4G, the carrier's first international handset with Android. It's a 4.3 inch powerhouse with its dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and more.

The phone carries much in common with AT&T's Motorola Atrix 4G, and even gets the same Webtop connectivity that sees the Photon 4G transform into a powerful computing device when connected to a seperate dock accessory. Motorola has placed a custom user interface over the Android operating system that is enhanced with features perfect for enterprise use. A flip-out kickstand built into the Photon 4G makes its qHD display great for taking in video.

Motorola Photon 4G Reviews

CNET
"With a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 4G speeds, enterprise-level security, and world phone credentials, the Motorola Photon 4G is a top-notch Android phone for Sprint customers."
Engadget
"The Motorola Photon 4G is Sprint's latest specimen, and follows hot on the heels of HTC's somewhat disappointing EVO 3D."
The Verge
"The device is no slouch, nor is its sales pitch. It’s the first WiMAX device from Motorola, and it’s a heavyweight in the specs department, boasting a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, 16GB of storage onboard, and worldphone capabilities."
Android Police
"I'm happy to report that despite seeming like it's almost the same device inside, it's quite a different beast this time around."
Android Community
"The Motorola / NVIDIA tag team continues to bust down doors and open up the options for strange new journeys on Android devices – desktop mode, docks galore, and the kickstand that turns your diamond-shaped Photon 4G into the world’s most excellent desk clock."
BGR
"The Motorola PHOTON 4G is the company’s first 4G handset on Sprint, and even more, it is the first high-end Motorola device set to launch on Sprint’s network in a very long time."
Slash Gear
"From being a powerful dual-core phone to all the accessories, this one is aiming right for the Atrix."
Ubergizmo
"The Sprint Motorola Photon 4G just came out, and Motorola presents it as being a “superphone”. Powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core system on a chip, it’s easy to understand why Motorola sees it that way."
Pocket Now
"The "weapon of choice", as Sprint would have us believe, is the newest to their mobile lineup - the Motorola Photon 4G."
Into Mobile
"The handset ships with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a high-end Android device of today but can Motorola’s latest entry dissuade potential Galaxy S 2 owners to choose it over the already massively popular handset that’s set for a US launch sometime next month?"
PCMag
"Our latest Editors' Choice touch-screen smartphone for Sprint, the Motorola Photon 4G is powerful, fast, feature-packed, and, in a pinch, it can double as a nettop PC."
PCWorld
"The Photon impresses with a cool design and some nifty accessories, but photographers will dislike its camera."
Phone Arena
"They’re kicking things off with a bang with the Motorola Photon 4G, a beastly phone with a massive spec sheet."
