Motorola DEFY Overview
The Motorola DEFY is the newest Motorola Android device announced for T-Mobile USA. It sports a 3.7 inch touchscreen, Android 2.1 with MOTOBLUR, and is being advertised as "Lifeproof" by Motorola.
The DEFY gets its name by supposedly defying the elements: it is waterproof, dustproof, and scratch resistant, making it an optimal choice for partiers, field workers, clumsy folks, and anyone who may take their phone into any kind of elements that may normally render it broken. We actually did a test with the DEFY, poured water on it, and it still worked perfectly.
The Motorola DEFY also cmoes with a 5MP camera and the social features found in MOTOBLUR.

Motorola DEFY Reviews
PhoneScoop "The Motorola Defy is the perfect phone for the young adventure type. This isn’t your father’s rugged waterproof phone, big and covered in rubber and steel plate. This phone is sleek and attractive and light, but still tough enough to withstand an occasional dunk or being dropped on the trail."
PhoneDog "The DEFY isn't the most spectacular device to come to T-Mobile, but it certainly has its benefits. It can withstand more than your average phone can whether it's being dropped, thrown into water, or covered with dust. It's small but still packs a decent sized display, has great battery life, and has a rather fresh design."
CNET "The Motorola Defy is a great midtier Android smartphone, especially for those who need a phone to be a little more protected against life's everyday mishaps."
PhoneArena "...when you look at the competition, there really isn't any other Android phone out there than can live to tell the tale after being exposed and drenched in water. Indeed, it's able to defy the odds!"
Brighthand "If you're looking for an Android OS phone that is a little smaller than some of the giant-screened monsters that have been popular lately, and want something that you can use and enjoy without having to worry about whatever life brings your way, check out the Motorola Defy. It's an excellent little phone that can keep up with all of your daily adventures."
Engadget "...the fact that we kept forgetting this is a genuinely rugged phone while using it really speaks to Motorola's efforts to keep mass market appeal in mind as they designed it."
PocketLint "Overall the Motorola Defy is an impressive and likeable handset. Some of the Motorola Blur elements get a little lost, so we quickly found ourselves adding additional applications to serve up a more conventional social networking platter. But we do like the design and think there is a certain something about the Defy that does make it distinctive."
TechRadar "It is hard not to like the Motorola Defy, but not necessarily for the reasons Motorola wants us to. MotoBlur's good, and we like the Twitter and Facebook integration, and we're happy to be able to bring contacts in from these – and other – sources."
InfoSyncWorld "If you want to be governed by a small device with a 5-megapixel camera, Android 2.1, MOTOBLUR, and tough body design, then the Motorola Defy is the phone for you. At just $100 for a two-year T-Mobile contract, the Defy certainly is one of the better choices out there. Not only does it flaunt the rugged construction, but it offers more than enough in the way of social networking. There's plenty of activity to be had, along with plenty of evil looks to go along with your incessant phone public displays of affection. If you want to know what all of your friends are up to at every second, then the Motorola Defy is about as good as you can get."
LaptopMag "For those who are hard on their phones, the $99 Motorola Defy is quite the bargain. It can survive much more abuse than your typical Android device and delivers a good set of features, including Wi-Fi calling. Yes, you can pick up the LG Optimus T running Android 2.2 for free, and higher-end phones such as the $199 myTouch 4G offer faster data speeds and perks including a front-facing camera and mobile hotspot app. But the Defy is an Android phone that is almost guaranteed to last the length of that two-year contract."

Motorola Defy+ Makes and Appearance on O2 Germany’s Site Earlier today we caught wind of an upgrade to the Motorola DEFY, the Motorola Defy+. EuroDroid came across a listing for the phone [...]
Beefed Up Motorola Defy Could Find its Way to AT&T The rugged Motorola Defy is getting an upgrade, but it looks like it won’t be returning to T-Mobile flashing its new internals. The 800Mhz TI OMAP 3610 CPU is said to be swapped for a 1GHz OMAP 3621 in the new model, known as the Defy+. Other than the processor switch, specs remain relatively the [...]

Motorola Defy Might be Rugged, but it’s Still Susceptible to Engineering Flaws [Broken Earpieces] Motorola’s Defy was to be the first “life-proofed” Android handset. Having taken a spin of it for ourself to test their claims and seeing countless crazy videos displaying the toughness of this thing, we believed them. But no one ever said anything about it breaking due to problems with engineering. Loads of users – after [...]
Motorola Defy Expected to Receive Android 2.2 in Q2 2011 The battle-ready Motorola DEFY has just been confirmed as a candidate for Android 2.2 (Froyo), but owners might have to wait a while to get it. Motorola has made it known that the update should be hitting Defy handsets in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East sometime in Q2 of next year. Knowing Motorola’s track [...]

Motorola Defy Goes Deep Sea Diving, Doesn’t Flinch Not that we didn’t already know the Defy was waterproof (and, as Motorola likes to call it, “life proof”), but if you didn’t believe it yourself, perhaps this clip will change your mind. Vincent from Android Community took his Motorola DEFY and decided to go for a little swim in his backyard. Not only did [...]
T-Mobile Launches LG Optimus T, Motorola Defy, T-Mobile Comet It’s quite easy to overlook these three phones considering the MyTouch 4G launched on the same day, but don’t forget that the LG Optimus T, the Motorola DEFY, and the T-Mobile Comet are all available from Magenta starting today. The Comet is free on a two-year contract or $200 if you’d rather not deal with [...]
Walmart has a Couple T-Mobile Deals, LG Optimus T for Just $0.97 While it may not pack the same punch as other Android handsets, I’m betting that the LG Optimus Q does a lot more than most other 97 cent purchases. Walmart has the phone at that price for new and existing T-Mobile subscribers eligible for upgrades and new two-year contracts. But as the retail giant is [...]
Motorola Defy to T-Mobile November 3rd, $99.99 We’ve seen this thing launched in Germany already, but T-Mobile was hush on a date and price for themselves, up to this point. They’ve officially “tweeted” that the Motorola DEFY will be launching November 3rd for $99.99 after a two-year agreement. This phone “defies life” as it can seemingly take any and everything you could [...]

But we’re not you, so we’re going to pour water on a phone: Of the 7 phones Motorola announced [...]
T-Mobile Androids Getting Wi-Fi Calling T-Mobile announced today that they’ll soon offer built-in Wi-Fi calling solutions for their entire Android lineup including the newly announced Motorola DEFY. Motorola Announces 7 Android Phones: Bravo, Citrus, Defy, Droid Pro, Flipout, Flipside, Spice You don’t exactly have to hold on to your high-end hats, but maybe you should be blown away by Motorola’s pre-CTIA announcement of 7 Android Phones and 3 Blue Tooth Accessories. Motorola Defy Launching October 21st in Europe? The Motorola DEFY was announced for T-Mobile and we know that it’d be heading to Germany via Vodafone, but we hadn’t received any idea on a launch window. If MobiFrance is accurate, we could be seeing the Defy launch in Europe just a few days after what we consider “mid-October,” the 21st to be specific, [...]
Just How Rugged is the Motorola Defy? Take a Look When this phone first broke its cover not too long ago, it was a center of attention due to claims of it being a device ready to take on any beating. Motorola later confirmed this, but we haven’t been able to see just how rugged this thing really is. Being the responsible retailers they are, [...]
