Introducing the Alcatel OT-980, an 'entry-level' handset planned to be released in the UK below £100!

Alcatel is not that well known in the US but in the UK they make decent phones on a budget and the OT-980 is their first with Android! Not much is known about this particular handset yet but some specs have been confirmed including a 2.8" inch resistive home screen, 2 MP camera, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS, a Qualcomm processor @ 600 MHz and a 3.5mm audio jack.

It's not yet known if the device will run Android 2.1 upon launch but it is confirmed to atleast come with Android 1.6. The Alcatel OT-980 is expected to be launched around August time!

And oh yeah, noted resemblance to the Palm Pre, right? ;)
