OnePlus One BabySkin back

Leading all the way up until its launch, the folks at OnePlus haven’t exactly been shy on revealing many of the hardware specs coming bundled inside their upcoming flagship, the OnePlus One. And while CEO Pete Lau has mentioned in the past that their smartphone would definitely be sold for under $400, but we weren’t sure if that meant $350, or was marketing speak for $399.99.\

While that part is still up in the air, the folks at GizmoChina havereceived a leaked screenshot, allegedly showing pricing for both the 16GB and 64GB OnePlus One models. Looks like we could (unofficially) be looking at about $353 for the 16GB model (2199.99 RMB), and $417 for the 64GB version (2,599.99 RMB). Pretty impressive given there sheer amount of hardware being offered for the price. In comparison, the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 can be found for around $650 off-contract.

OnePlus One price

Of course, we’ll let the OnePlus guys make the final US and European pricing for the phone official and the best part is we wont have to wait much longer. The OnePlus One will be unveiled tonight, at 11:30pm PDT / 2:30am EDT. OnePlus recommends following their Twitter account here, or the live coverage in their forum here for the latest from the event.

  1. That is an amazing price. Manufacturers are charging 3x as much. HTC, Samsung, LG, and etc could all take notes from this.

    1. Not quite 3x as much, but close to twice as much. Anyone know if this has a removable battery

      1. Aren’t phones like about $200 to make? The oems charge ~$600

        1. It’s like buying a car from a dealership or straight from the manufactures. The later is ALWAYS better.

          1. True, it would be cheaper, but you also have to remember that the manufacturer has to dump loads of money into development. I’m not sure if they factor that in on the cost to build. That might only be materials.

        2. About $250 to physically make each device plus the cost of actually designing and coding the thing as well as the cost of supporting future updates… R&d and licensing fees as well as salaries and rent for offices and marketing etc.

    2. Apple still has the most ridiculous margins of all. Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. are greedy but not that greedy. A screen that’s 15-25% smaller than Samsung’s etc’s cannot cost more to produce the screens those companies use.

  2. So it’ll probably be $350 for 16, and $400 for 64. Reminds me of Nexus 4 pricing. I’ll take a 64 please and thank you, where is the waiting list at?

  3. WAT? $353… oh crap. My N5 just got scared of being replaced.

  4. I bought my Galaxy S5 for $700….crap!

    1. man,…you better take that sh!t back bro..lol

      1. Tell ’em that their sh%* ain’t worth all your bills.

    2. bought my Note 3 for $690 on release day…. YES!

(No regrets. Holding on to it until a better slab (w/o a home button) rolls along. The OnePlus looks interesting on value, but not raw best-in-class.)

  5. This deal will be better than the Nexus 5.

    1. If they end Nexus (which would really suck), I’d honestly be okay buying OnePlus products as long as they adhere to or supersede Nexus build/support quality. The camera is outstanding, which obviously supersedes Nexus.

So, I for one welcome our new off contract overlords… I guess?

      1. Google is discontinuing the Nexus phone line in 2015.

        1. Your existence is being discontinued today.

      2. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords.

  6. Maaaan I’m considering putting my Verizon line on hold and using a T-Mobile prepaid for a minute just for fun lol.

  7. Haha good luck finding one at the price. More like $600-$700 on the black market.

    1. The black market is where illegal/semi-legal products and services are bought. Last time I checked the Oneplus didn’t fall into this category. Your level of idiocy, though… Definitely bordering on illegality.

      1. wow that was harsh

      2. Except that with the utterly random invite system people are already scamming folks which opens the whole system to the black market and scammers. The only idiocy here is you actually thinking that you’ll find one online for sell that is ‘legit’.. Whomever controls the invites, controls the system. Thanks for playing though.

  8. Even if the 64gb sold for $450 it would still be a great deal!

  9. 64gb.. 2600RMB.. that’s ridiculously good

  10. Would you be able to get from the manufacturer?

  11. Given THEIR not there. I really hope this was typed on a phone. That’s a pretty rookie mistake especially for a writer.

  12. nice to see the prices are officially better than leaks! $300 and $350 16gb/64gb

  13. The price tag is very attractive 16Gb for just $299 but lucky one can get it for just $1 only……….>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> telecomvibe(dot)com
