Huawei P30 and P30 Pro skipping MWC, to be unveiled on March 26

Despite the expectation that MWC 2019 would be the perfect scene for Huawei to unveil the P30 and P30 Pro, the company will not unveil the devices until March at an event in Paris.

The launch date for the P30 series has been officially confirmed by Huawei to take place in Paris on March 26. The company took to Twitter to announce the news, stating “Rules were made to be rewritten. Paris, 26.03.2019”.

The promotional video for the announcement showed scenes of zooming in on famous Paris landmarks, which suggests the focus of the P30 series will be the super-zooming feature. There was a heavy emphasis on the camera capabilities of the P20 Pro, which managed to score an unprecedented rating on DxOMark, and the P30 series is expected to be no different.

While the P30 series is expected to consist of the two P30 and P30 Pro devices being shown off at the event, Huawei could also launch a 5G device, but we’ll have to wait until the event to see if this is included.

Huawei will still be at MWC 2019 with a press conference on Sunday, February 24 at 2pm CET where the company could be showing off a foldable device to go head to head with Samsung’s foldable Galaxy X.

Let us know in the comments below if you’re looking forward to the P30 and P30 Pro release.
