Now that Qualcomm has unveiled its latest flagship-level processor, we are surely going to see confirmation from various OEM’s regarding whether the Snapdragon 845 will be used in upcoming devices. Unfortunately, there was no more information shared regarding the Mi 7, other than the confirmation of the name of the device itself. All we know now is that while Xiaomi was the first to confirm the SD845 is coming to the Mi 7, we know that other OEM’s will be using the latest chipset in their 2018 flagship lineups.

While Qualcomm has yet to share the specifics regarding the Snapdragon 845, we know this is the best that the company has ever offered. It’s likely to include some type of dedicated neural processing unit, as we have already seen Apple and Huawei introduce similar hardware with its latest devices.

However, a few computer OEM’s have already announced new laptops which will be powered by the Snapdragon 845, something that hasn’t been done before. The SD845 is ushering in a new era of processors, and I am super excited to see what will be coming to the market over the course of the next year.

As for other specs, a recent rumor has revealed that while the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset, the device is also expected to come equipped with 6-inch OLED display. This display panel will be provided by Samsung, but it is unknown whether we’ll be seeing a bezel-less design similar to other Xiaomi devices.
