Google Play Music on Android Auto not working? Google knows, and here’s a workaround

0

Many Android Auto users have been chiming in regarding an issue that throws out an error message anytime they try to play music through Google Play Music. Nasty bug, that, considering music control is probably one of the biggest reasons to even use Android Auto.

If you’ve been experiencing this bug, you’ll be happy to know you’re not alone. Tons of folks have reported the issue, and Google has a team investigating and working on a fix right now. You can go ahead and submit your information in this thread if you want to help them track the cause.

But if you just want to listen to your tunes, you’ll also be glad to know there’s a workaround, though it’s not all that elegant at the moment. The fix is to simply reboot your device, after which you should be able to enjoy the tunes for your commute.

The dirty catch is that you may have to repeat this step every time you want to enjoy a listening session. That’s sure to be annoying, but it’s better than nothing for now. Be sure to keep an eye on this thread at Google’s product forums if you want updates on the company’s progress.
