Samsung says they haven’t received any reports of exploding Galaxy S8 units since its launch

Sometimes no news can actually be good news and the old saying couldn’t possibly ring more true than when it comes to Samsung and their latest smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8. The phone’s launch — which officially took place on April 21st — went through without a hitch. Here we are, nearly 52 days later and Samsung reportedly hasn’t received a single complaint about exploding batteries anywhere.

Samsung would like you to believe it’s because they’re no longer using faulty batteries. This combined with the company’s new safety measures, which now includes 8-point battery safety checks, should help weed out any potential threats. The improved safety checks actually extend across their entire smartphone lineup so it’s not just the Samsung’s flagship devices that benefit.

After the ordeal that was the Galaxy Note 7, it’s nice to hear that Samsung has successfully squashed fears about the safety of their smartphones. Looking ahead toward the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, let’s hope they can keep it that way.
