Samsung is rumored to have created its own GPU for phones

Samsung makes a lot of their smartphone components in-house, including the display and processors (in some models). A new rumor suggests they’re working on their own GPUs as well. The GPU is rumored to be called S-GPU )of course), and could arrive in flagship Galaxy devices next year.

We don’t know any details about the S-GPU, just that it’s being worked on. In the past, we’ve heard about Samsung potentially licensing graphics from NVIDIA and AMD. Qualcomm is the big player in mobile right now. If Samsung comes out with one of their own, Qualcomm could finally have found its match.
