OnePlus will work with DxO for the OnePlus 5 camera

0

OnePlus didn’t have much to say about the technical aspects of the camera expected to be inside the OnePlus 5, but they did reveal a pretty important partnership they’ll leverage to make sure their camera is among the best.

The company has announced that they have sought the expertise of DxO to make sure the OnePlus 5 camera is the best it can be. They’ll create their camera in accordance with DxOMark, the imaging standard that most folks recognize as tops in the game.

Companies are increasingly looking to DxOMark not only to improve their cameras, but to also gain marketing points to be able to parrot around their high scores. They use their scores as sort of a power ranking tool, with the HTC U11 towering above all right now with a score of 90 and the Pixel right behind it. We’re not sure where exactly the OnePlus camera will end up, but it seems the mark for flagship devices these days is in the high 80s. Let’s see if they can make it there.
