Nougat usage jumps to 7.1% while Marshmallow remains stagnant

Google has released the Android Distribution figures for the month of April and shows a fairly significant jump in usage for Android Nougat. In March, Nougat was hovering around 4%, but with the launch of devices such as the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8, those numbers have seen a bit of a jump up to 7.1%.

With more and more devices getting ready to be launched running Android Nougat, these distribution numbers will likely rise in the near future. However, it’s still interesting to see so many devices still running Android Lollipop.

Hopefully, there will be OEM’s who continue to update their devices to Nougat as we’ve recently seen the likes of the Moto Z, Galaxy S7, and others updated. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t hold my breath as there have always been upgrading problems with various OEM’s.
