Use the Samsung Galaxy S8’s Bixby Button to launch Google Assistant with BixRemap

0

A new app sitting at Google Play called BixRemap is the Bixby-free remedy some folks have been praying for. As you might guess, the app’s purpose is to remap the Samsung Galaxy S8’s Bixby Button to launch any app you want.

The biggest use case for most folks, of course, will be to call on the Google Assistant instead of Samsung’s unfinished Bixby product. And we don’t blame folks for wanting to do so, either, as Samsung’s biggest attempt at a personal assistant since S Voice shipped without, well, a voice.

The app is free, and the developer — Dave Bennett — says that while it’s a simple test app for now, he will look into fleshing it out with more features if folks show enough interest. We’re willing to best that there will be a lot of interest building up as contempt for the Bixby Button grows among Samsung faithful.
