Samsung is looking to use the Galaxy S8’s iris scanner for financial transactions

0

A new report out of the Korea Herald claims that Samsung is looking into more implementations for the iris scanner found on the Galaxy S8. The technology was first introduced on the Galaxy Note 7, but also made its way onto Samsung’s latest flagship.

One such implementation could be for verification while making payments in your day to day life. Various banks in South Korea have already reached out to Samsung as they look to implement this feature into mobile apps.

It’s unlikely that we’ll see this implementation used here in the States, but if everything goes well in South Korea, that may change. Let us know in the comments what you think about the potential to use iris scanning for your mobile transactions.
