Oppo expected to expand to the US next year

ZTE, Huawei, LeEco, Lenovo — all of these companies (and then some) have lofty aspirations: they want to dominate the US market. You can potentially add Oppo to that list today.

DigiTimes is reporting that Oppo is readying a big push in the US. It’s said the company will leverage their photography patents to push for innovative camera smartphones, something that’s always a hot ticket need for consumers.

Oppo definitely has the clout and means to pull this off. They’re currently enjoying positioning of 4th biggest smartphone vendor, trailing only behind Samsung, Apple, and Huawei. That’s good company to be in, and it proves to be even more impressive considering they’re not in quite as many markets as those 3 are.

Of course, Oppo will need more than just capital in the US if they want to do well. Marketing will be key, and they still have to deal with busting the hold that companies like Samsung and Apple currently have on the region, something that not even Huawei has been able to crack just yet.
