Xiaomi is looking to expand globally with its Redmi lineup

0

Xiaomi is one of those companies that we are hoping to make a splash in the US as they are tearing things up in other parts of the world. The company has already announced plans to unveil something new at CES 2017, and now a new rumor is suggesting the company is planning to release some of its smartphones globally before the end of 2016.

The rumor comes from Reddit through a Czech website by the name of SvětAndroida and claims that Xiaomi will be announcing a global version of each of its Redmi lineup of smartphones before the end of 2016. The rumor also claims that Xiaomi will be unveiling an “enhanced version” of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, as well as a new device named the Xiaomi Redmi 4X.

Xiaomi unveiled its Redmi 4 lineup of products early in November and due to the budget market in the US looking for a new top dog, this could be good news for the company. With pricing of the Redmi 4 lineup starting at less than $100, we could be looking at a new big dog on campus if these rumors come to fruition.

The only skepticism that I would hold for these rumors is that it claims Xiaomi will be making its announcement before the end of 2016. With just 3 weeks left to go, it’s highly unlikely we see anything before CES, but maybe Xiaomi surprises us all with some type of announcement.

If Xiaomi finally makes its devices readily available here in the States, would you grab one or would you look elsewhere for your budget smartphone needs? Let us know in the comments below.
