Android Nougat is coming to the Verizon Galaxy S7 “early next year”

0

Samsung began rolling out the Android Nougat beta program to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users last month, but it seems Verizon owners will be stuck for awhile. SamMobile has obtained an image which shows a new Beta announcement that explains that their devices won’t be updated until the official release.

Dear Customers, Verizon will stay on the original software for the remainder of this trial. Beta trial users will be upgraded to the commercial N release when it is available early next year. Thanks, Galaxy Beta Program Team

There is no mention as to whether the other variants of the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will no longer be getting more Android Nougat updates, but Verizon users will be out of luck. On the bright side, this announcement “confirms” Nougat is coming to these devices in early 2017, even if there isn’t a specific time frame to reference.
