Samsung Gear S3 update improves GPS performance

0

The Samsung Gear S3 is getting a new upgrade today. A 14MB file is headed for the smartwatch, with its main benefit being directed toward those who use the watch’s GPS.

The GPS radio should now be more reliable when using it with apps such as GOLF Navi and S Health. Beyond that, Samsung is adjusting timezone settings for users in Magadon, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and Novosibirks in the watch’s world clock app.

The update is currently rolling out in parts of Europe, though exact availability may vary. In any case, it’ll hit your watch through the Samsung Gear Manager app as version R760XXU1APK6/R760OXA1APK6, and yes, that’s a mouthful.
