Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be released on December 6th

0

Google released the Android 7.1 Nougat developer preview for the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X last month, but there have been questions as to when the stable version would be released. Considering that the Pixel and Pixel XL are already running Android 7.1, it was a little odd that the older Nexus devices were put through the developer preview before seeing the official release.

According to Vodafone Australia, Google will begin seeding the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to the Nexus 6P starting on December 6th. The update will weigh in at about 650MB and will be available via an OTA and will be rolled out in stages.

Vodafone is claiming that the update will include December’s Android security patch and will take up to 2 weeks for the update to be fully rolled out. It’s also unknown whether the Pixel, Pixel XL, and Nexus 5X will see the update on the same date or if there will some type of discrepancy.
