OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T both getting Android Nougat by year’s end

0

The OnePlus 3 is officially retired thanks to a leaner, meaner, and stronger successor on the eve. But that doesn’t mean OnePlus 3 owners will be left in the dust when it comes to future love.

OnePlus has confirmed that both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be getting Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of the year. This follows previous confirmation that not only would that be happening for the OnePlus 3, but that it would also be receiving an early community build for folks to preview as soon as this month.

Beyond that, OnePlus likely will keep the device’s head above water with constant updates. The OnePlus One received many updates after the OnePlus 2 launched, and the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X are still receiving regular updates despite those devices being a bit long in the tooth. Keep that in mind in case you were readying your pitchforks over the OnePlus 3’s sudden demise.
