Meizu may strike back with a borderless phone of their own

0

The everlasting quest for smartphone manufacturers in China to one-up each other continues. The latest episode has Meizu taking aim at the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the company’s first borderless phone.

Due later this month, the Xiaomi Mi Mix eliminates borders on the top and side edges of the phone, with the only bezel present on the phone being on the bottom for housing components. Enter Meizu, who is rumored to be looking into the same design for their Pro 7 smartphone.

Alleged renders of the phone don’t do much to show it off, but previous murmurings suggest Meizu is definitely working on something similar. Beyond the look, we have preliminary details of what ticks under its hood.

The device will supposedly be 6.55mm thin and have a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 (which is pretty much 1080p with a bit of extra room). For RAM and storage, we’ve got 6GB of the former and either 64GB or 128GB of space depending on which configuration you opt for. If any of it is true, it will be made official this December.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
