Nvidia has announced the 3.3 update for its Nvidia Shield Android TV box is now available, bringing with it some enhanced audio improvements in apps like Plex, Kodi, and MX Player. PlayStation Vue just launched on the service as well. Here’s a peek at the changelog for this update:

  • DTS:X Audio: Experience immersive, lifelike audio with DTS:X pass-through in Plex, Kodi v17, and MX Player
  • Adds Dolby Atmos audio pass-through support in Plex
  • Delivers the latest monthly Android security updates
  • Adds support for Vulkan 1.0.1.0 Conformance Test Suite

The Dolby Atmos audio pass-through support for Plex is great if you’re using the service in that manner, as you should hear improved sound quality for the shows and movies that you’re streaming.
