Low Light Camera Shootout: Pixel vs iPhone 7 vs Galaxy S7 edge

0

There’s no denying that the Pixel and Pixel XL feature an amazing camera. But since taking pictures in well-lit situations is fairly easy, we wanted to give you a look at how Google’s Pixel phones perform when the sun goes down. The collection of images in the video and the gallery below compare the Pixel’s low-light performance to that of the Apple iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

The images show that the Pixel has much better dynamic range than the other two phones. This allows the Pixel to pull in a lot more detail in areas which are well lit in an overall dark scene. Unfortunately, the Pixel’s low-light performance can fall behind that of the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 edge when things get really dark.

For detailed analysis of the Pixel’s overall camera performance, check out full Pixel Camera Review.
