BlackBerry is hoping to make a splash this Holiday season as we have already seen the BlackBerry DTEK60 leaked although the device has yet to be made official. The next device is codenamed the BlackBerry “Mercury” and may be quite a formidable mid-range device once it is released.

The device was found with the model of “BlackBerry BBB100-1” which some believe to be the Mercury. The benchmarks show that the device will be running Android 7.0 Nougat, will include 3GB of RAM and may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor.

With the BlackBerry DTEK60 being the flagship for BlackBerry’s holiday push and the DTEK50 pretty much already forgotten, the Mercury could leave a decent imprint on the market when its released. If you’re wondering why BlackBerry is suddenly testing and releasing new devices, this comes after the company confirmed that it would be releasing a few devices in the latter portion of 2016, and this may be the final iteration.

It’s also possible that we’ll see even more from BlackBerry, but for now, here’s to hoping that BlackBerry can make a dent in the competition and return to some form of relevancy.
