Moto’s 2016 phones willl get Nougat by year’s end

Wondering how long it’ll take your Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, or Moto G4 variants to get Android 7.0 Nougat? Thankfully Motorola has broken radio silence, with the company confirming that the update will arrive in Q4 2016.

That basically means that they’ll get it to you at some point in 2016, as Q4 is billed as October through December. Unfortunately, that’s all the details Moto was willing to offer, so we have no idea what to expect in the way of changes (we expect them to take a backseat to customization to let Nougat shine a little bit).

it’s also undetermined on whether the upgrades will come to any of the Moto X or Moto G phones from yesterday. We imagine Motorola will want to make that happen at some point, but the wait for those folks could be even longer (especially since Lenovo is continuing to let go of resources over yonder).
