Nintendo delays Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem mobile titles to 2017

Yesterday’s announcement of a new mobile Mario game was pretty insane, but  others are wondering about some of the other beloved Nintendo franchises that we were promised to see on mobile this year. Unfortunately, Nintendo has confirmed that plans for Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem apps and games have been delayed until March 2017.

Nintendo says it was important for them to get Mario out of the door before the other titles. We’re not sure why — perhaps a rushed partnership with Apple forced them to change priorities — but that’s their story.

Thankfully it shouldn’t take too long into that year to get the goods, with Nintendo promising that launches would happen at some point before March 31st.
