Turing’s vaporware Monolith Chaconne promises to do everything but turn into a flying car

2016 has seen the release of devices that feature 6GB of RAM and most of us were pleasantly surprised because there are still computers being released that don’t even feature that much. What if we told you there was a device in the works that included 18GB of RAM? Even better, think about a device that uses THREE processors and over 1TB of storage?

Turing Monolith 1

Well, that’s what Turing has announced. The company who has had issues getting its first smartphone off the ground has announced that it has plans for the Turing Monolith Chaconne to be a device with a spec sheet that reads like an April Fools joke.

Turing Monolith Specs

Why would you use a dark background with dark text?

Turing Monolith Chaconne Specs:

  • 3 x Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processors
  • 18GB RAM
  • 768GB storage expandable with 2 microSD card slots (1.2TB total)

  • 60MP Quad Rear camera
  • 120Wh battery
  • Swordfish OS
  • 4 x nanoSIM slots

Ooohhhh slide-out keyboard

I mean, the specs read off like something you would see in a Back to the Future movie and the more that I look at them, the more I wonder if it can turn into a car too. Maybe this is what Elon Musk will use to help control its SpaceX rockets if the Monolith Chaconne is ever released. Oh and if you think this will be affordable to you? Think again. With devices such as the Galaxy Note 7 featuring just one processor and an all glass/metal design, it costs upwards of $900, so imagine what this bad boy will be priced at.

The device is pegged for release in 2018 but is only in the R&D stages of its life. Considering the issues that Turing has been dealing with ever since it entered the smartphone market, we definitely aren’t holding our breath, but it will be fun to watch the development between now and then.

Who knows, maybe Turing will actually follow through but in the meantime, I’m going to keep laughing to myself about the Monolith Chaconne.

Oh and by the way, if you want to move to Turing’s Finland R&D lab and help out with the process, you can send them an email at [email protected] and put your eggs in that basket.
