0

Every week, hundreds of Android apps and games are submitted to the Play Store. If you’re not paying attention 24/7, it’s easy to miss some of the best stuff. Each week we will highlight five of the best new or overlooked apps and games. You’re sure to find some hidden gems in these recommendations. Go forth and download!

1. Shuffly

Shuffly is an app for watching YouTube videos in a different way. Instead of browsing your subscription feed or the trending videos, Shuffly plays a random video for you. The random videos can be from your subscriptions, trending videos, specific channels, or your favorite topics. All you have to do is choose where to shuffle from and tap the button. You can even sign in with your Google account to get more personalized random videos.

2. Tricky Test 2

Tricky Test 2 is all about testing your ability to be tricked. It’s a puzzle game that asks you to solve deceptively simple puzzles. You start the game with 300 IQ points. Every time you get tricked, 1 IQ point is taken away. The goal is to have 140 or more IQ points remaining after solving all the puzzles. The puzzles aren’t difficult, but they do require you to pay very close attention to wording and imagery. New questions are added every week to keep it fresh.

3. Hermit

Some Android apps are notorious for killing battery life and being resource heavy. Using Chrome instead of native apps is a pretty good solution, but Hermit takes the idea to the next level. Hermit allows you to create custom lightweight apps for any web address. You can customize how the app looks, block ads, limit tracking, and still get notifications. It’s a great way to visit your favorite apps without bloated apps or fillinf your browser with tabs.

4. Tiny Keepers

You’ve probably heard the saying “if all your friends jumped off a bridge then would you too?” Tiny Keepers is a game that looks a lot like this common phrase. Save your friends by tapping the right side of the screen to jump them safely to the bridge. Tap the left side of the screen to make the enemy jump into the water. The timer at the top of the screen shows how long you have to make the decision. Act fast or you lose.

5. Divide

Divide is a new take on daily journals. Instead of writing down what you did at the end of the day, Divide allows you to divide it into bite-sized entries. Simply take a second to add the accomplishment and get on with your day. It’s a lot easier than writing a “Dear Diary” novel before you go to sleep. As you make entries throughout the day you’ll see the colors change. By the end of the day you’ll have a beautiful presentation of everything you did.
